“If I had to choose,
my best day ever, my finest hour,
my wildest dream come true –
mine would be you.”
Kelsey and Seth’s Boyden Farm wedding in the beginning of September was a testament to family and comfortable, country life. Cowboy boots, macaroni and cheese appetizers, and barrels covered in rustic fall flowers were all beautiful background to the real star of the day: a blending of two wonderful families celebrating a couple that was quite literally surrounded with love. It makes me so happy when every element of a wedding seems to be a true reflection of the people getting married and that was so very true for this beautiful, country wedding. Gorgeous colors that were the perfect blend of summer and fall, Vermont maple syrup favors, and homestyle food: all the details came together seamlessly but it really was the love and emotion that were the centerpiece of the day.
The couple went traditional in waiting to see each other at the ceremony, but we did arrange a last minute first look between the bride and her dad in the barn that didn’t leave a dry eye in the room. And as Kelsey walked down the grass towards Seth and all their friends and family, there were definitely more tears shed. It was a beautiful, personal ceremony with vows written by the bride and groom – one of those special touches that always touches my heart.
While the pre-wedding and ceremony parts of the day were filled with sentiment and emotional moments, this was a group that was ready to let loose and party at the reception. Kelsey’s mom planned a fun interactive game for everyone as the dance floor opened and the crowd was more than happy to don cat ears and tutus they found in the prop bag passed around. I sneaked Kelsey and Seth outside at sunset for a few more photos and they were both so relaxed and just thrilled that they were now married. It was an incredibly special wedding day, thank you both for having me by your side for it!
